I am so excited! I just received the first photos of our tiny house under construction from Joe at Tennessee Tiny Homes!!!! Check it out! It’s SO adorable! 🙂
It’s an 8×20 ft house (so it’s about 196 square feet including the loft), with a cedar and reclaimed tin exterior, a red metal roof, and red trim around the windows and down each corner. The inside will be painted all white, a perfect blank canvas for me to color up! It will have a full bathroom with shower, sink and compost toilet, and a perfect little kitchen with stove-top, fridge, microwave and sink. There is a loft large enough for two people to sleep and a living room downstairs with a futon/sofa large enough for two (even 3!) people to sleep! It also has a storage shed mounted on the back with instant hot water, and there will be air conditioning and heat in the living room. There are a total of 10 windows, which is the largest number of windows Joe has been able to squeeze into one of his tiny houses yet. Yay! They will make the house seem much bigger than it is and give us a great view of the outdoors once we get it to our final destination.
And it’s called The Bumbleshack of course! Why? Because I love insects, particularly bees. Why? Easy answer. They pollinate our food and make it possible for us to eat and live. Without them we would die. And they are darn cute. And fuzzy.
We love our little Bumbleshack already, and we haven’t even met her yet. 🙂
